a few of found's favorite (local) things

We are lucky to be  part of a rich artisan and maker community here in the Pacific Northwest. We love to create and make alongside these gifted men and women. As we were making our own gift lists (for family and friends and ourselves, of course) we wanted to share some of our very favorite things right here in our neck of the woods. So, if you are wondering what you should get your loved ones this Christmas, wonder no more. Check out these amazing makers....

Martini Metal Craft                                                                                                                                                www.martinimetalcraft.com

Marijo Martini creates in her Victorian Italianate-style studio where she thoughtfully handcrafts jewelry with her own tools. Her goal is to create simply elegant wearable pieces that remain distinctive for a lifetime.

Our Favorites: Raffinato Earrings and Copper and Sterling Silver Petite Gocciolina Necklace

Handmade La Conner                                                                                                                                     www.handmadelaconner.com

Folks at Handmade La Conner are all about handmade. They believe that to make the best quality products possible, you need to make them by hand, in small batches, one at a time, taking time to address the details (we know all about this at ::found::) They spend thousands of hours and countless weeks obsessing over everything that they make, every bar of soap, every stitch sewn, every material they use.

Our Favorites: Eucalyptus Natural Dryer Sheet Liquid and Oakmoss and Whiskey Lotion Ball

elSage Designs                                                                                                                                                www.elsagedesigns.com

This husband and wife team print unique, high quality goods through a block print/screen print process. Each and every piece is printed entirely by hand in their Washington State studio.
The design process begins with an idea sketched out, then transferred to block and carved. The resulting block print is then screen printed with care and intention.

Our Favorites: Limited Edition Snowflake Hoodie (for the whole family!) and the Believe in Mountains tee

Bison Bookbinding and Letterpress                                                                                                               www.bisonbookbinding.com

At Bison they are gently pushing the boundaries of the traditional letterpress look — producing new designs that are whimsical, sweet, and edgy. These creations come to life through Bison's impeccable letterpress print work, most notably their ability to give a balanced, heavy impression that is both pleasing to the eye and satisfying to the touch.

Our Favorites: The art prints (all of them, we couldn't choose just one) the Octopus Notebook

The Dovetails                                                                                                                                               www.dovetailmusic.com

The Dovetails play Old-time, country and bluegrass from the Skagit Valley Flats and for the last five years they have performed all over Skagit and Whatcom counties at farmers markets, bars, parties and music festivals. Their first album, Between Field and Sunset, was recorded in Vancouver BC January of 2015.

Our Favorites: The whole album is outstanding, but the songs we can't stop singing are "The Ocean Tide" and "Night Train"
