The Honor Collection is an artisan line of leather bags and accessories handmade using hides produced by Horween, an American manufacturer of some of the highest quality leather in the United States. The hides we used were seconds from the mainstream industry, rejected for small imperfections or color variations, but no less beautiful or durable. In fact, we love the natural nuances of the leather.
Each of the pieces in this collection is named for a person who’s life I wish to honor. Not one of us has become who we are without the help and guidance of those who have lived life before us. And sometimes those people leave us. Often before we would like. As this collection has come into existence, the mere writing of their names on the sketchbook page, or picturing their face as I sewed, has brought renewed connection to them.
The leathers chosen for this collection are strong but lightweight, rustic yet soft and buttery in the hand. The unique fabric linings including vintage striped denims paired with colorful, modern patterns by South African designer, Skinny LaMinx. A selection of the bags utilize vintage military zippers, the rest are complemented with solid brass rivets and hardware.
This collection is especially significant as it is the last collection I will be producing. For everything, there is a season, and after this season I am going to cease regular studio production to open myself up to other creative pursuits. I gratefully acknowledge and appreciate those of you who have been such caring supporters of this brand, and hope your Found bags will continue to be trusted companions.
Every bag in the Honor Collection tells a little bit of my story, and my wish is that they will become part of your story as you carry them out into the world.
